Close call in Karnataka's Bandipur: 50-year-old man alights from car to take elephant's pic, trampled; thrill-seekers continue to flout forest laws, say officials

A man had a close brush with death inside Bandipur Tiger Reserve when he was attacked by a tusker. Basavaraj, a resident of Nanjangud, alighted from his vehicle near Kekkanahalla and was charged by the elephant, which was guarding its calf. The incident, captured on video, shows the tusker knocking Basavaraj down and trampling him.
