Vadodara Sayaji Hospital had organised 177 blood donation camps last year. This has led to 3,735 more units of builds collected in the year 2025 as compared to the year 2022.
In the last four years, there has been a steady increase in the number of blood units given to critical diseases such as thalassemia, sickle cell and maternity through the blood centre of Sayaji Hospital. There has been a 70 per cent increase in blood units issued for maternal and newborns. For patients with sickle cell anaemia, 518 units were given in the year 2022. In 2025, that number has increased to 1,672.
