Ahmedabad News: In Ahmedabad, 57 girl students were found guilty of food poisoning. According to reports, 57 girls living in the SP Girls' Hostel in Memnagar area of Ahmedabad were suffering from food poisoning. Around 900 girl students are staying in the girls' hostel run by the trust. Of these, 57 students complained of diarrhoea, vomiting and fever yesterday. Soon after, the students were rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. At the same time, 57 students were affected by food poisoning and the health department of the corporation was rushed to the spot.
According to the preliminary investigation by the officials of theHealth Department, the students had eaten things including pani puri-dabeli outside. In the last 2-3 days, I have eaten dishes like khichdi and sev khamani in the hostel. As many as 18 students are still undergoing treatment. While the rest of the students are in good health. Currently, the AMC team has taken samples from the hostel and conducted further investigation.
AMC Food Department Launches Investigation
After lunch, the health of the students suddenly started deteriorating. A total of 57 to 60 students were rushed to Sterling Hospital for treatment. As many as 18 students are still undergoing treatment. Fortunately, the condition of all the students is reported to be stable at present. Considering the seriousness of the incident, a team of the food department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) immediately started an investigation into the hostel. The food department has conducted an inspection in the kitchen of the hostel and samples of cooked food as well as used raw materials have been taken. These samples have been sent to the laboratory for testing.
