Vadodara: A police complaint has been lodged against a travel agent from Sayajiganj and his partner for allegedly extorting money from a couple in thailand on the pretext of getting them a work permit.
Yogeshbhai Barot, a resident of Sathod village in Dabhoi, told the police that when he contacted Shailesh R Prajapati (Sundarbans Society, Vasad, Anand), who had an office in the name of Live Immigration Consultancy in Phoenix Complex, Sayajigunj, to go to Thailand in June 2022, he contacted partner Vivek alias Vicky Dilip kumar Shah (Ahmedabad) and told him that he would take care of all the work.
According to which my wife and I had paid Rs 3.60 lakh, but after going to Thailand, we came to know that we had been given tourist visas. This time vivek and two other agents also came with us.
Yogeshbhai has said that when we went back to Kolkata and went back to Thailand, we signed the salary slip of a company. But the job was not arranged. After that, the travel agent paid more money by talking about processing for the UK.
