Two pilgrims killed in himachal-Kinnaur floods; ITBP rescued 413 pilgrims; Cloudburst in Uttarakhand's Pauri

The rain has brought disaster to the mountains. Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh since Tuesday night have thrown life out of gear. Two devotees, who had gone on the annual Kinnar Kailash Yatra in Kinnaur district, were killed in the floods. Two bridges on the yatra route were also washed away due to the flash floods. The rest of the route was also heavily damaged due to which the yatra has been halted. Many devotees are stranded. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) team has rescued 413 pilgrims with the help of ziplines. There was also a landslide on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway on Tuesday night. More than 500 roads in the state are closed due to large rocks falling on the roads. Schools have been closed in Shimla, Mandi, Solan and Kullu districts. Heavy rains continued in Uttarakhand on Wednesday as well. There has been a cloudburst in Pauri district. Two women were buried under the debris in Buransi village here. The body of one of these women has been recovered while a search is on for the other. At the same time, a cloudburst took place in Bakunda village, where 5 Nepalese labourers were reportedly trapped. Earlier on Tuesday, dharali village was devastated by a cloudburst. In this, 4 people were killed, while more than 50 people are missing. The Badrinath National Highway was closed due to a landslide in Karnaprayag. The haridwar-Dehradun railway has been stopped due to stone pelting on the railway. 5 photos of rain and floods across the country... Red alert for Kerala and orange alert for rain in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu The Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert for rain in Kerala on Wednesday. Also, orange alert has been issued in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and yellow alert has been issued in 20 states including Uttarakhand and Bihar.
