According to the information released on the official Facebook page ofFort Stewart, law enforcement agencies apprehended the shooter shortly after the shooting and there is no longer an active threat to the campus or the surrounding area. The injured were rushed to the Vinn Army Community Hospital after being given first aid on the spot. Following the incident, the military base was temporarily closed shortly after 11:00 am (05000 GMT) as a precaution
The President has been briefed on the shooting at Fort Stewart in Georgia. The White House is monitoring the situation.

White House Releases Statement
FBI's Savannah Office is working with the military's Criminal Investigations (CID) to investigate the case. The White House confirmed that former president Donald Trump had been briefed about the incident and that the administration was monitoring the situation. Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp said, "We are in constant contact with local law enforcement agencies. Marty, our daughters and I are deeply saddened by the tragedy that occurred at Fort Stewart><."
At present, there is no official confirmation about the shooter's identity and the motive for the attack. Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and a detailed investigation into the incident is underway. Fort Stewart is one of the largest military bases in the US, where a large number of soldiers are stationed. The firing incident has raised serious questions about the internal security arrangements of the army
