Asaduddin Owaisi will address a public meeting in Khanpur in Ahmedabad, 630 candidates will be fielded in the state.

While the local body elections have been announced in the state of Gujarat, political parties have started campaigning in Ahmedabad. The AIMIM party, which dominates minority areas in Gujarat, will launch its campaign from a public meeting. As many as 630 candidates will be fielded in five minority municipalities, 10 municipalities and district panchayats and taluka panchayats in Gujarat. Today, April 4, AIMIM party chief Asaduddin Owaisi will address a public meeting at JP Chowk in Khanpur area of Ahmedabad. A large number of people will attend the public meeting scheduled for 7 pm. Owaisi's party will start campaigning from today Local body elections are to be held in the state. Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM will field 48 candidates in 12 wards of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) as the Muslim community dominates in 12 wards. Owaisi's party will start campaigning from today. Asaduddin Owaisi is scheduled to address a public meeting at JP Chowk in Khanpur around 7 pm after meeting Gujarat leaders in Ahmedabad. He had also addressed a rally at Khanpur in the last assembly and municipal corporation elections. Khanpur area is said to be the area bordering the three wards of Shahpur, Dariapur and Jamalpur, due to which public meetings have been held in the area. Candidates will be fielded in 12 of the 48 wards AIMIM party Gujarat president Sabir Kabliwala said in a conversation with Divya Bhaskar that Asaduddin Owaisi arrived in Ahmedabad yesterday. He will meet some leaders of Gujarat today and address a public meeting in the evening. The AIMIM party will field candidates in 12 out of 48 wards in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, including Jamalpur, Shahpur, Dariapur, Khadia, Behrampura, Danilimda, Lambha, Maktampura, Vejalpur, Sarkhej, Gomtipur and Vatva wards. Two candidates have been finalised in the AIMIM party, namely Afsana Banu Chisti from Jamalpur and Zain Bibi from Maktampura ward, while Mohammed Rafiq Bhai, who won from Jamalpur ward and became a corporator, is now inactive in the party and does not want to contest from Jamalpur but will not be given ticket from there as he is not able to contest due to reservation rotation, while Mushtaq Khadiwala has resigned from the AIMIM party so that he can contest again from Jamalpur ward. Binaben Chauhan will not contest the elections while Binaben Chauhan will also not be given a ticket.
