New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who wore a headscarf to a Muslim police officer’s funeral, clapped back at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who seemed to mock her in a tweet. Cruz reposted a photo of Hochul at the funeral with the caption, “Um, wut?” Hochul responded saying, “I wore a headscarf to honor a fallen Muslim NYPD officer at his funeral. Respecting a grieving family’s faith is ‘wut’ leaders and anyone with basic decency would do.” After Hochul’s response, Cruz responded, writing, “I agree. You should wear a hijab every day because you are so damn decent. Never mind the rights of women in New York…not your concern.” n18oc_world n18oc_crux
