A youth living in Udamana Darwaza area of Chanasma and doing the business of writing documents was cheated of Rs 7.05 lakh on the pretext of buying a Bolero car. The accused gave only Rs 1 lakh and sold the car elsewhere without paying the rest of the money. The Chanasma police have registered a case against two persons from Vasai Dabhala in Vijapur and Kamalpur in Idar and are taking legal action. What is the whole matter?
Kuldeep Dodiya bought a Mahindra Bolero Neo Ten in 2023 for Rs 12.65 lakh. The car was carrying a loan from Chanasma Co-operative Bank. Kuldeep had spoken to his friend Chirag Singh (resident of Jitoda) to sell the car. Meanwhile, on January 23, 2026, Anilgiri Goswami (R/o Vasai Dabhala, T. Vijapur) and Bhautikgiri Goswami (R/o Kamalpur, T. Idar) came to Kuldeep Kumar's house. The car deal between the two parties was settled for Rs 7.05 lakh. Trusting the car, he snatched the car
The accused had promised to repay the outstanding loan of the car and won Kuldeep's trust by saying 'give him two days to turn around'. The accused had given Rs 1 lakh in cash. The car was taken with the book. However, two days later, the accused started making promises to repay the loan or pay the remaining money. I sold the car to a third person.
During investigation, Kuldeep found that the accused had sold the car to Rahul Dhan Gadhvi at Tanvi Motors in Sanand's Shantipura area for Rs 5.80 lakh and took Rs 4 lakh from him. Rahul Gadhvi also said that he was cheated and Kuldeep finally took refuge in the police.
The Chanasma police have registered a case under sections of cheating and breach of trust against Anilgiri Goswami and Bhauthikgiri Goswami in the matter and further investigation is on.
