Surat Corporation : After the formation of a high-level committee to prevent gulf floods in Surat, the work to remove the illegal pressure of the gulf coast has been expedited. A few days ago, after the demolition of the illegal building of Jawahar Nagar on the banks of Koyali Creek, the work of removing illegal pressure has been started in Sahajanand area today. The demolition was initially opposed but one demolition after another has made the functioning of the municipality easier with the support of illegal builders.
Coordination between the municipality and various departments of the state government has become possible after a high-level committee was formed to prevent gulf floods in Surat. Apart from this, with the appointment of Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal as the chairman of the committee, the work of removing the pressure of the gulf coast responsible for the gulf floods has become easier.
