Pinaki Dutta, the eldest son of Jaharlal Dutta, originally from West Bengal and now living at Janata Nagar in Chandkheda, was employed by INS Company in Gift City. On March 29, Pinaki left for work on his KTM bike at around 4.30 pm as the new MD was to arrive in the office. Little did the family know that this would be their last meeting with Pinaki. Shortly after Pinaki left home, his wife Shilpa was told by an unknown person on Pinaki's phone that the bike had met with an accident near the Mahakali Mata temple on the road leading from Shahpur Bapa Sitaram Circle to Lawarpur. He was rushed to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital for treatment after the accident
His father Jaharlal and younger brother Rahul rushed to the spot after receiving the news. It was then learned that Pinaki was shifted to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital by 108 ambulance. As soon as he reached the emergency ward of the hospital, the ground slipped from under his father's feet. Doctors declared Pinaki dead after an examination. According to the police, Pinaki lost control of his bike while riding it at full speed. A case of accident was registered and a postmortem was conducted on Pinaki's body. The body was then handed over to the family. The Dabhoda police have taken legal action on the basis of the father's complaint.
