Surat Sharvan Special : In the month of Shravan, many people fast and eat farali dishes in the fast. Due to the demand of the people, the dish of Avnavi Farsan is being sold in The Farsan Market of Surat, but some farsan traders are frying farali dishes in the same oil in which other farsan is fried and giving it to the fasting people. There is no point in fasting as farali dishes are sold in this way. Some traders keep separate utensils for farali dishes but complaints are widely seen that most of the traders are frying the farali dish in the same oil.
Many devotees are fasting in the month of Shravan across Gujarat including Surat.
