Vadodara: The Pcb police have busted a network of smuggling of foreign liquor under the guise of a paper cup. The police have seized a truck full of Rs 18.90 lakh and arrested the driver and cleaner. Police have registered a case under sections of making bogus bills in addition to prohibition.
The state police chief had issued instructions for a special prohibition drive in the state from June 10 to June 16. Following which the police commissioner Dr. Shamsher Singh instructed the PCB police for the work of listed bootleggers and prohibition. As per the instructions of PISD Ratada, the staff went to the above place and checked and the driver and cleaner were sitting in the cabin of the truck. The driver's name was identified as Junaid Ismail Pathia (resident of Satpul Muslim -C-Society, Vejalpur Road, Godhra) and another minor. A total quantity of liquor worth Rs 18.90 lakh was recovered from 507 tins. The police have seized the truck, liquor, cash, GPS fitted in the truck, paper cup and a total of Rs 34.61 lakh.
