Statue of Unity: Millions of people visit the Statue of Unity every year. The tallest statue in the world has become a unique identity today. The ongoing work of developing adequate housing facilities for tourists from india and abroad visiting the Statue of Unity-SOU Ekta Nagar, the world's tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, will be expedited and planned. In the 6th Governing Body meeting of The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust held in Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, fruitful discussions were held in this regard.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust is an autonomous body established by the Government of Gujarat under the Society of Registration Act, 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. The main objective of this Trust is to develop a National Memorial National Memorial in memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and to carry out various public interest activities in the memory of Sardar Saheb.
For this purpose, a 10-member governing body has been formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, in addition to the Chief Secretary and chairman of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam, the Finance Department, Urban Development Department, Forest-Environment Department, Road-Building Department and Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam MD. Including senior secretaries have been included.
Not only that, to make the SOU complex a center of more tourist attraction, detailed discussions were held including trekking trail on the hills near the SOU, walkway, hospitality district and installation of a replica of Sardar Sarovar Dam near the entrance. Amit Arora, Chief Executive Officer, Statue of Unity Area Development and Tourism Authority, said that the agenda of the governing body meeting and Detailed details of various works, including tourism development works being undertaken in the SOU, were presented in the meeting.
