Vadodara: Thieves targeted the locked house of vadodara mayor's mother-in-law in Sharadnagar society located in Tarsali area of the city and picked up gold ornaments.
In her complaint lodged at Makarpura police station, Trishaben Rathod, who lives near Sai Baba temple in Sharadnagar, said, "I do housework and my husband Nileshsingh is the mayor of Vadodara. My mother Sarojben Chandubhai Trivedi also lives in our Sharadnagar society. The house has been closed for six months as my mother has gone to Australia at present while my uncle Bharatbhai lives on the top floor of my mother's house.
I was at home at five o'clock this morning when I got a call from my uncle that the lock of your mother's house was broken and it appeared to have been stolen. When I immediately went to my mother's house after my uncle's call, the main door and bedroom door knob were broken, as well as the vault kept in the bedroom was also broken and the goods kept inside were found scattered. Later, when I called my mother and asked me, I told her that there was a two-and-a-half tola gold bag in the vault and two booties weighing one tola of gold. When I checked these ornaments in the vault, they were not found, so it was found that the thieves had taken away the ornaments worth Rs. 85,000.
