1 killed, 14 injured as iron angle hits high tension line in padra's compartment, 6-year-old daughter loses father

At least 15 youths were electrocuted while they were constructing a Ganesh pandal near the Verai Mata temple in Dabka village of Padra taluka. Prakash Dahyabhai Jadav alias Sachin died on the spot. While 14 other youths sustained injuries at different places. The accident took place when the high-tension line passing through the iron angle pandal was blocked. Pi M R Chaudhary of Vadu police station said the incident took place while the pandal was being built late at night. The work of constructing a pandal of about 15 feet high was going on. Meanwhile, this incident has happened. A case of accidental death has been registered in connection with the incident and action has been taken. 6-year-old daughter loses father's umbrella Prakash alias Sachin Jadhav, the youth who died in the incident, was the second of three brothers. He used to run a provision store in the village. She has a 6-year-old daughter. Prakash's death has left the family shocked. The deceased was known as Sachin as he was playing good cricket Prakash Jadhav was a good cricketer. He was playing in a cricket tournament played in Padra taluka. Hence he was known as Sachin in the taluka. People were better known as Sachin than his original name Prakash. He was making a 15-foot-high pandal and 15 youths were electrocuted. Ganeshotsav has been celebrated in Dabka village for the last 40 years. In order to celebrate ganesh festival in the 41st year, the youth of Yuvak Mandal were building a 15-foot-high pandal for the installation of 12-foot Shriji. Due to darkness, the iron pole of the pandal got stuck in the 11 KV power line, causing a ruckus to 15 youths working to make the pandal. Ganesh festival will now be celebrated by establishing Sopari Maheshbhai Jadav, the head of Ganesh Mandal, said that the statue of Shriji was also booked in Vadodara by the Yuvak Mandal. He was scheduled to come to Vadodara on Friday to collect the idol. But after the incident that took place late in the night, the village is in mourning. The mandal has now decided to celebrate Ganesh utsav by establishing a soupari.
