Surat: A month-and-a-half ago, two women, who owned a grocery shop at Shyamdham Chowk Shyamdham Society in Surat, were dressed as employees of the Municipal Corporation and charged Rs 2,680 to get a food safety license. The woman was arrested.
According to details received from police sources, 35-year-old Pratikbhai Babubhai Boghra, a native of Amreli Liliya Krakach village and a resident of Yogeshwar Row House House No. 31 behind Sarthana Yogichowk Balaji Bungalows in Surat, owns a grocery shop in the name of Gurukripa Sales in Shyamdham Chowk Shyamdham Society Building No. 439. However, he took documents and Rs. 2680 from him and later gave him a receipt, saying that he did not have a license.
However, during a conversation with prateekbhai's acquaintances, the two women were suspected to be bogus officers. On May 16, he saw the two women in a shop near Pasodara Saurashtra Residency and informed the police. During interrogation, it was found that he was sitting in the Punegam Bhaiyyanagar Shubh Plaza Shopping Center Office No. 11 and the lawyer Rohangiri Ashokgiri Goswami (U.V. 37, R.B./303, Jayambe Palace, Ishwarpark Society, Near Sitanagar Chowki, Punagam, Surat.
However, rohangiri, who is not currently working as a lawyer after studying law, was found to have misled the two women and extorted money from them.
