'My father used to drive a rickshaw and earn a living' Talking to Divya Bhaskar, teacher Ranjitbhai Parmar says, "Antroli village in Mangrol taluka on the coast of Junagadh district is my hometown. 1987 My father used to run my family by driving six rickshaws. It was very difficult to live life at that time. At that time I was wondering how to get my family out of this situation. But at that time there was no idea. At one time when my father was standing on the road, a convoy of IAS officers left and my father's rickshaw was kept on the side. Then my father asked one of them who is all this? Then a policeman said that these are IAS officers, my father came home and told me about this whole incident and made me feel excited by explaining the importance of education to me. And since then I had decided to make my father's dream come true. 'My parents are the biggest contributor' Ranjitbhai Parmar further says that the biggest contribution in my career has been from my parents. Because at that time my father had filled me the form in Porbandar Navodaya Vidyalaya and I started studying in Navodaya Vidyalaya. When I used to come home on leave in Navodaya Vidyalaya, I used to see my mother going for labour. At that time I was wondering when will I relieve my family from this pain?. Gradually time passed, I concentrated on studies and continued to study. In Navodaya I passed with good results. I then went on to study at The Government Engineering College, Gandhinagar. He then went on to study at M.S. University, Vadodara. Wherever I used to pass with very good marks. He then passed the Gujarat Public Service Commission with GPSC 1 rank and passed as the topper in Gujarat. 'I could have got a job in many fields too...' Ranjitbhai Parmar says, "Even at that time, my father used to take his six and shout for the passenger to sit in the rickshaw with the 'Chalu Madhupur Chalo Madhavpur'. At that time I felt that it was time to free my family from the pain of this labour work and after that I got a job as a lecturer in Government Polytechnic Porbandar and I took my family with me to stay in Porbandar. I could also get a job in many other fields, but I thought I would decide on a field where I could guide the education of thousands of others. That's why I decided on the field of education. The reason for which was that students who could not only be made engineers but also a good citizen and a good person. I have provided engineering education to more than 2500 students in the last 25 years. Those who are currently doing very good companies, government sector as well as job business. 'Many students achieved success' Ranjitbhai Parmar says, "There are many students who have achieved success in their lives, one of my students' fame is studying in difficult times and taking her mother and father, who is driving an auto-rickshaw, with her and is currently working in a company like Torrent. The student has given respect to her family. What could be my greater success than the education I am currently imparting and the students who are respecting their parents? 'Decided to give a different understanding and direction to the society' Teacher R K Parmar has graduated from Gandhinagar and masters from MS University Baroda with both distinction. Cleared GPSC (GES-Class-II) with 1 rank. But he decided to give a different understanding and direction to the society as a teacher and is currently working as the head of the electrical engineering department at government polytechnic Junagadh. With 23 years of experience in education, not only education as a teacher of the Electrical Engineer Department but has also given the students a system of social education and easy education. 'Students can easily digest hardships' Teacher Ranjit Parmar has taught his students an innovative Gurukul style of teaching them a mix of moral values with the use of modern learning tools including live internet and animation. He prepared animated presentations to teach different theoretic practicals of the electric course so that the students could easily digest the difficulties. Urban as well as rural level students coming to study with this condition education system can compete with students coming from other cities. Along with students from Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat, students from Junagadh also make it to the top 10 of the university every year. 'NBA accredited by New Delhi for 6 consecutive years' The main objective of this teacher was to bridge the socio-economic gap among the students. Promoted experiment-based and project-based education which requires multi-disciplinary skills for the former. A conversation of experts from different departments was arranged in the college. The Department of Electric under the leadership of Ranjit Parmar has received NBA accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for 6 consecutive years. Most of the electric projects are prepared by the students of this college itself. This saves government funds by students preparing for educational panels. It is very helpful for practical operations in laboratories. Laboratory guidelines have been prepared for different crop subjects. 'Made about 100 videos in local language' In the last five years, about 100 videos have been prepared in the local language by teacher Ranjit Parmar to help students from rural and poor socio-economic backgrounds. So that they can increase their confidence and knowledge with better understanding. This video is also available on YouTube and social media. This video has helped the students a lot in the Corona epidemic. The videos have been prepared in a very simple and entertaining form so that students can enjoy the study instead of taking it as a burden. Tireless efforts to make the study enjoyable Digital bar-coded has been started in the library with software prepared by Professor Ranjit Parmar of Polytechnic College and his staff. In which the facility of book bank has been started. An initiative for free sanitary napkins has been launched for girl students 10 years ago for free sanitary napkins through donations from staff in all women toilets in polytechnic colleges. An initiative is taken to organise karate classes for the students studying here. The environment is very well maintained by the college staff with the aim of providing clean air and a good environment to the students coming to the college. GK, Aptitude, Reasoning classes have been started in this college. Mock interviews are also conducted to prepare students from average socio-economic background for selection in MNCs like Reliance, TATA, Torrent. Due to which L&T is currently. Ultratech. Many students are working in this prestigious MNC. This teacher is actively involved in making the college campus the cleanest, green and carbon neutral campus. The college has been generating more than 50,000 units of electricity per annum with a savings of over Rs.11 lakh so far by regularly maintaining the 35 kW solar power plant. Students have been taken to the venue for outdoor education for visualization of substations, transformers, transmission sites of the electrical department. I was selected for the award from Gujarat." Ranjit Parmar, Head, Department of Electrical, Junagadh Government Polytechnic, said, "As many as 16 professors from India have been selected for the President's Medal Award for various fields for their outstanding work in the field of education this year. Out of which I have also been selected for this award from Gujarat. For this President's Medal Award, I give it to my parents, all the students of the electrical department and all the staff associated with my educational institution. After studying in Junagadh Government Polytechnic College, the student becomes an engineer. But there is a great need to be a good man with an engineer. In our polytechnic college, I have tried to provide education in a good environment, good education and respect for human moral values. A very good cleaning is maintained in the polytechnic college here. All the four core greenery and trees have been planted to purify the atmosphere here. 'Students don't need to take books' Ranjitbhai Parmar further says that sanitary napkins have been kept in the women's toilet at the Polytechnic College here. These sanitary napkins have been placed from the establishment donation 10 years ago so that the students coming here can use them hesitantly. A book bank has been started in the library here so that students from middle and poor classes do not need to take books. A 35 kg solar system has been installed here by the Government of Gujarat. And it is also maintained by the college itself. Out of which five thousand units are also produced from it every month. Out of which, so far 14 to 15 lakh units have been saved. 'Animation study method in simple language to remove fear of English' There are more rural students coming to police technical colleges from Junagadh district. Due to which such students have filled a passion and zeal that they can study eye to eye with the students of Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara and Surat. For which we conduct reasoning, attitude and other classes in the same college. In order to remove the fear of English language among the students coming from the rural level, animation study system has been started in simple language. When a student comes to study in this government polytechnic college in the early days, his result is less and with the passage of time, the same result reaches a higher level. 'Junagadh students in top-10 across Gujarat' There are about 130 colleges in polytechnic universities across Gujarat. In which the students of Government Polytechnic Junagadh are coming in the top 10 across Gujarat. In which also the students of the electrical department have secured their place in the top 5. The students here have a strong hold on discipline and language style. Due to which national international companies give priority to giving jobs to the students here. In particular, the Electrical Department of Junagadh Government Polytechnic has been given an NBA certificate for six years by the National Board of Accreditation for passing through higher standards. Even if the students of this college go abroad, the certificate of this college remains valid. 'Gave students a different understanding' Ranjitbhai Parmar says, "Ever since it was announced that I will be conferred with the President's Chandra Award. Wishes from many friends have been pouring in since then. Then these people are still asking me what is the work that has led to you being selected for the President's Award. I didn't do any special work then. I have only made efforts to do the work and all the methods that suit only one teacher. The average teacher has risen above what he should have done and has done things in such a way that the light shines in the lives of the students. He has explained how the student studying here can become a good person and how he can give respect to his family by doing excellent work in the society. At a time when more is taught in English in the engineering department, students coming from the village level in the Junagadh Government Polytech College here have made different animation videos in Gujarati language to better understand the study being taught along with English.
