Ahmedabad DEO Surprise Checking With RTO and Traffic Police: Surprise checking was done in different schools by Ahmedabad City DEO (District Education Officer) and Rural DEO along with a team of ATO and Traffic Police Department. A fine of Rs 38,000 was imposed on 20 students for bringing unauthorised vehicles to a school and Rs 65,000 for violation of rules, including insurance, PUC and licence, to vehicles including school buses, school rickshaws and school vans in other schools.
A fine of more than Rs 46,000 was imposed
On Monday (September 30) morning, a team of RTO and traffic police conducted a surprise check by ahmedabad city DEO and rural DEO together. For the first time in this way, both the DEOs had started a surprise investigation into the security of the school. In which the team of DEO of Ahmedabad city reached Rajasthan Hindi High School located in Shahibaug. Where school buses as well as school rickshaws and school vans did not have insurance and PUC, as well as drivers did not have licenses. So, the RTO imposed a fine of Rs 46,500 on the drivers. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 18,500 was imposed by the traffic police.
Neglect of students' safety
Earlier, on the order of the state government, all DEOs had issued special urgency and orders to keep all types of documents of school buses, school rickshaws and school vans clear for the safety and security of students in schools. However, in Rajasthan Hindi High School, school buses, school rickshaws and school vans are being used by motorists to pick up and take students without such necessary documents. In this way dangerous journeys are being made ignoring the safety of students.
Students were also fined.
On the other hand, a surprise check was conducted by the Ahmedabad Rural DEO at Narayan Guru School in Satellite this morning. Wherever a team of officials from the RTO and traffic police department was accompanied, it was investigated whether the students of unauthorized age group brought the vehicle to the school without a license. As many as 20 students from class 9 to class 12 had come to the school unauthorisedly with vehicles. The highest number of students of class 11 and 12 are included. All these students were fined rs 38,000 by the traffic police and RTO. A fine of Rs 20,000 was imposed by the RTO department and Rs 18,000 by the traffic police. Thus, in a surprise check conducted by both the DEO offices, a fine of more than one lakh rupees was imposed on the drivers of the school, from the students to the drivers of the school.
For the first time in Ahmedabad, such checking and penalty process was carried out by going to schools. A circular was also issued by the Ahmedabad city DEO after a surprise check of all the schools that if the vehicles of the school ward do not have the necessary documents in this way, then the school will also be fined.
