Exhibition of 18 charcoal drawings at Sabarmati Ashram, the holy land of Gandhiji

Vadodara: Atulbhai and Muditaben Shah, who have been organising an exhibition every Gandhi Jayanti for the last 15 years, have organised an exhibition of 18 charcoal drawings from October 2 to 4 at sabarmati ashram, the 'Tapobhoomi of Gandhiji', this year.

Atulbhai says that even after 76 years of Gandhiji's nirvana, today about seven to eight lakh tourists from all over the country and abroad visit the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad every year. Sabarmati Ashram was established on June 17, 1917. Among the 18 charcoal drawings we are going to put on display, the buildings in which Gandhiji stayed in different buildings of Sabarmati Ashram from 1917 to 1930 have been shown in the drawings. Before the establishment of the ashram there was an ambly tree. The Dandi Yatra started from under this tree. The ashram's first bhuvan was a hostel. Gandhiji lived in a part of it. He then stayed in Hridaykunj. In 1928, He stayed in Maganniwas. Those who came from all over the country to discuss with Gandhiji lived in imam manzil, mirakutir, nandi's teacher's residence. The exhibition will also feature a 90-year-old Rang Rentia. The exhibition will be seen from 10am to 7pm at Pen Point on Kothi Char Rasta Main Road.
