As the movement towards Swachh Bharat, which began ten years ago, intensifies, it is imperative to find creative and creative solutions that lead to long-term sustainable solutions to persistent social challenges. Local actions backed by a global outlook will take us forward in our journey towards a cleaner and greener India. This year, the Government of India has launched the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign with the theme 'Nature Cleanliness and Sanskar Swachhata'. Reliance has always been conscious of this objective and like previous years, this year too it undertook a series of activities to restore its responsibility for this noble campaign in 2 villages around the production site - Big Khavdi and Jogwad. Reliance Foundation has launched a cleanliness campaign in which more than 700 of its employee volunteers and villagers were encouraged to do 'Shramdaan' to showcase the importance of a clean village and a clean India. Enthusiastic volunteer teams and necessary resources such as JCB, dumpers were cleaned from both the villages and 180 tonnes of wet waste, dry waste, wild vegetation, etc. were collected. The campaign also included activities to create awareness about cleanliness, encourage volunteers in the society and create a positive impact in the minds of the villagers. A rally of school children, local leaders, volunteers, youth and band members was organised to create awareness for a clean village. Reliance Foundation believes that this participation of all in 'Swachhata Hi Seva' will help in bringing about a long-term change in the mindset of the people towards Swachh Bharat.
