Haryana Assembly Elections 2019: The BHARATIYA Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of 67 candidates for the Upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. However, with this, it has suffered a major setback. Many BJP leaders are resigning one after the other expressing dissatisfaction over the list. A total of four veteran leaders, including BJP Kisan Morcha state president Sukhwinder Sheorane, have resigned and threatened to revolt.
Dissatisfaction over the list of candidates
Sukhvinder Sheoran has written a letter to Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli announcing his resignation. Bjp working members Seema Gabipur and Shamsher Gill have also resigned as primary members of the party. Bhalle Chairman, president of the Farmers' Morcha of Charkhi Dadri district, has also resigned from the party. Bjp's candidate from Maham, Shamsher Singh Kharkada, is also rumoured to be quitting the party. State vice-president G L Sharma and Gurugram candidate Naveen Goyal have also rebelled against the party and called a meeting of its supporting workers.

He wrote a letter to the state president and resigned.
Sukhvinder Sheoran has written a letter to Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli announcing his resignation. They have also sent a copy of this letter to the state's Chief Minister Naib Saini, the organization minister and the national president of the Kisan Morcha. "I hereby recuse myself from being the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Kisan Morcha as well as as a primary member of the party, so please take the trouble of accepting my resignation letter immediately," he wrote in the resignation letter.
BJP releases first list of candidates
The BJP has released its first list of 67 candidates for the Upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. According to the list, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini will contest from Ladwa assembly seat. Haryana Speaker Gian Chand Gupta will contest from Panchkula, former Haryana BJP president Om Prakash Dhankar from Badli, former Speaker Kanwar Pal Gurjar from Jagadhri, former Home Minister Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt and former MP Sunita Duggal from Ratia.
Old leaders unhappy with giving tickets to defection leaders
The party's old guard in several districts is upset after the BJP's list was released. This includes former ministers and MLAs. The party has announced several defectors as candidates, which did not go down well with party veterans. According to political experts, more than a dozen leaders are likely to rebel against the party in the next two days.
Anti-BJP wave in Haryana
Assembly elections in Haryana are scheduled to be held on October 5. After being in power here for 10 years, the BJP is now facing an anti-incumbency wave. Issues of caste and reservation have become a big challenge for the BJP. After breaking the alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), the BJP no longer has a strong ally in the state.
