The Dholidhaja dam, which supplies water to all twin cities of Surendranagar, Wadhwan, Ratanpar, Jorawarnagar and Dudhrej, was flooded with Narmada water. As a result, the main pipeline supplying drinking water to Surendranagar was washed away due to flooding in the Bhogavo river. Municipal corporation president Jigyaben Pandya and executive chairman Jitendrasinh Chavda, water supply chairman Jagdishbhai Parmar, engineer Kewantsinh Herma and his team reached dholidhaja dam to work on a war footing and the municipal staff repaired the pipeline by standing neck deep in 7 feet deep water. For this, more than 2000 sand sacks supported the pipeline and immediately a 20-foot-high bridge was made and a crane was installed on it and motors weighing 7 to 8 tons were fitted. So the erratic water distribution in many areas for a week was restored from Tuesday.
