Vadodara: M.S. University is not excluded from the devastation caused by the floods of Vishwamitri in Vadodara. Information is coming to light about the damage caused by various departments.
These items were placed in the basement of the Archaeology Department, in which the historical heritage has been damaged due to the intrusion of water. It is still in the water and has not yet been taken out. The statue of Lord Buddha kept in the basement dates back to the 4th century. Conch shells and bones have also been submerged in water. The items that the students used to use for field trips are also in the water now.
Prof. Sushmita Sen, Head of archaeology department, says, "In all these years, so much water has never come to our basement. After the establishment of archaeology department in 1950 in the basement, the items found during the excavation done at different places have been preserved. The water is being drained out but there is still some water left. The historical heritage has been damaged but efforts will be made to save it by drying it .
