A group of five friends, who had gone on a pilgrimage to Chardham from Vadodara, were rescued by helicopter this morning after they were trapped due to a natural disaster while returning from visiting Mataji at Gangotri Dham Gangadevi Temple. The family is praying that they reach home safely.

On the afternoon of August 5, with the incident of cloudburst in the hills near Dharali village, mud and stones along with the strong water of the flood in the Kheer Ganga river dragged towards Dharali village. Many roads have been washed away due to landslides due to heavy rains. Many devotees and tourists from all over the country have been affected in this terrible natural calamity. While some people are missing, their families are worried as some have lost contact.
