Air India's San Francisco-Mumbai flight found vandals: Cabin crew changes passenger seats; Airlines said - sometimes insects enter the plane

Air India's San Francisco flight from San Francisco to Kolkata via Mumbai has come to light. Two passengers complained of vandals near their seats. After this, the cabin crew changed the seats of both of them. Both the passengers were upset to see the vanda. "Our cabin crew moved the two passengers to other seats in the same cabin, where they sat comfortably till they reached Mumbai," the airline said in a statement. During refueling in Kolkata, the ground crew cleared the flight. The flight then left for Mumbai. Air India said, "Despite continuous fumigation (chemical spray) from our side, sometimes during ground operations, the insects enter the aircraft. We will investigate the cause of the incident and will try to ensure that such an incident does not happen again." The incident comes at a time when the Tata Group-owned airline is already facing criticism for repeated operational challenges such as delays, service-related complaints and maintenance issues. Air India is being closely monitored after the Dreamliner crash in Ahmedabad on June 12. 270 people lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash. There were 242 people on board. Twenty-nine people lost their lives in the medical hostel where the plane crashed. An audit by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the body that monitors the safety of the aircraft, also found several safety violations in the airline's operations. On July 23, the DGCA had sent four show cause notices to Air India. The notice was for violation of cabin crew's rest and duty rules, training rules and operational procedures. A day earlier, on Sunday, Air India had to cancel two of its flights due to technical reasons. The first flight AI 500 was scheduled to arrive in Delhi from Bhubaneswar. However, the cabin temperature was found to be high before the flight departed at Bhubaneswar airport. The flight was then cancelled. According to flightradar24.com, the Airbus A321 was scheduled to take off at 12:35 pm and reach Delhi at 2:55 pm. Earlier on Sunday, Air India's Singapore-Chennai flight was also cancelled for repair work. The airline said the AI 349 was scheduled to depart from Singapore, but it was necessary to carry out repairs before that, which would take extra time. Due to this, the flight was canceled. The airline has also been criticised for repeated incidents related to hygiene after blades were found in a meal on an Air India flight last year. In September last year, a passenger on a Delhi-New York flight had alleged that a cockroach was found in his omelette, due to which his child fell ill. Earlier, the blade was found in the meal on the Bengaluru-San Francisco flight. Also read this news related to flights...
