Delay in supply from the US
Explain that Pakistan has purchased such Bayraktar UAVs from Turkey. India has signed a deal to buy 36 MQ-9 Predator drones from the US, due to delays in deliveries. This is the reason why the Ministry of Defense has approved the purchase of second RPA for the armies. In addition to the BrahMos launcher for the Navy, the Cabinet also approved the purchase of compact autonomous surface craft (sea-going drones) and the upgrade of the Barak-1 point defense missile system.
Things for Orders
Such autonomous craft will prove to be effective in detecting, classifying and neutralizing enemy submarines in the sea. The Defence Ministry has approved procurement of mounted radars for the Indian Air Force and upgradation of Saksham and Spider Weapon System. These upgrades are being done to connect the Saksham and Spider Weapon Systems to the Integrated Air Command and Control System (ICCCS)
