A truck driver had caused a major accident by driving at a reckless speed on Khed Tasia Road in Himmatnagar in the early hours of Saturday. The truck driver, who was on his way to Mahavirnagar from Motipura, rammed the truck on the divider in front of Patidar Samaj Wadi. The truck also damaged two electricity poles and plantation trees during this period. People from all around had rushed in because of the loud noise. The locals immediately chased the truck and stopped it at Mahavirnagar char road. A mob of people gathered at the spot and the police were informed. After the police arrived, people handed over the truck driver to the police. Vehicular movement was less on the road from Chhapria Char Road to Mahavirnagar Char Road as it was on rakshabandhan day. On normal days, the road is frequented by the citizens early in the morning and vehicular movement is high. Due to this, a major tragedy was averted.
