The Junagadh police were seen in 'action mode' today to solve the traffic problem that has been a headache for a long time in the commercial areas of Junagadh city. PI Sanjay Desai and his team of A-Division police station conducted an accidental foot patrolling on the main roads of the city, causing a flutter among the violators. The red eye of the police in busy areas
The police convoy started from Azad Chowk and travelled on foot to very busy areas like Post Office Road, Danapith Circle and Chowk Maliwada. During the drive, the police took a tough stand against the owners of vehicles parked in the middle of the road or in the 'no-parking' zone. Many motorists were warned on the spot that if such haphazard parking is done again, legal action will be taken up to detaining the vehicle. Priority: Public awareness, not penalties
Giving details about the operation, PI Sanjay Desai said, "Our priority is to remove the difficulties faced by the customers and local traders who come to the market for shopping. The patrolling has been done with the aim of getting traffic sense among the people and making them park their vehicles in a disciplined manner instead of just collecting fines. The action will be stricter in the coming days
A clear warning has been given by the police administration that such drives will continue continuously in the coming days as well. The law will be tightened against those who violate traffic rules and push on the road. Following this police activism, the roads of the main markets of Junagadh were found relatively open and orderly this afternoon.
