The board exams are over and exams are going on in universities and colleges. With this, the examination of primary school students is starting from today. From April 6 to 11, the test will be held in Std. 3 to 5 and from April 13 to April 22, Std. 6 to 8. In Kutch district, 2 lakh children of classes 3 to 8 studying in about 2500 schools in 1667 government primary schools as well as private schools will take the annual test starting today. The second test (annual examination) will begin in primary schools across Gujarat from today. In the first phase, Gujarati first and second language papers will be taken from 8 am to 10 am in Std. 3 to 5 on Monday, April 6. The question papers will be held in Gujarati on April 6 for classes 3 to 5, mathematics on April 7 and environment on April 8, Hindi on April 9, English, Marathi and Telugu on April 10 and April 11 respectively. Students of classes 3 and 4 will have to write answers in the test paper. Students of classes 5 to 8 will have to write answers in separate answer sheets. Under the semester test, the answer sheets will have to be verified at the school level. For government and grant-aided schools, question papers will be prepared and given at the state level, while private schools will prepare their own question papers and conduct the examination. However, private schools will also have to follow the same timetable. In the second phase, the exams for students of classes 6 to 8 will start from April 13. The first and second language papers will be held on April 15, Hindi on April 16, Science on April 17, English on April 18, Social Science on April 20, Sanskrit on April 21 and Telugu, Marathi, Tamil and Urdu on Wednesday. The exam time for classes 6 to 8 will be from 8 am to 11 am and the question paper will have a total of 80 marks. It is worth mentioning that students who have failed in class-5 and 8 will be re-examined after studying for 3 months. The education department has decided that if they pass the exam again, they will have to be admitted to the upper class. Earlier, both the exams were held together, but this time it was easier to organize different exams
Usually, the annual examination of classes 3 to 8 is held simultaneously every time. In the first phase, the examination of class 3 to 5 and the second phase of the examination from class 6 to 8 will be held.
