Kheda Local Crime Branch police have seized foreign liquor worth Rs 5 lakh from the Ahmedabad-Indore highway in Kathlal. The accused driver left the car in Lasundra village and fled after the police chased the suspected car. Based on the information, he set up a watch near Phagwel village on the Ahmedabad-Indore highway. In the meantime, a car coming from Balasinor tried to stop on the basis of suspicion. The driver of the car stopped the car on seeing the police. The police immediately started chasing the car by vehicle. The accused had turned the car towards Lasundra village. The driver fled before the police could reach, leaving the car in an abandoned condition near the panchayat of Lasundra village. A total of 1,554 bottles of foreign liquor were recovered from the car. Its price is Rs 5 lakh 19 thousand 744. A total of Rs 10 lakh 19 thousand 744 including the car has been seized by the police. Police have lodged a complaint at Kathalal police station against the driver of the car, the sender of the liquor consignment and the one who ordered the liquor consignment. The number of the car was checked in Igujcop and it was found that the number plate of the car was wrong. Police have launched a probe into the matter.
