A POCSO court in Mehsana has sentenced both the accused, including his brother, to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 32,000 on them for abducting and abducting 14-year-old Sagira, a resident of Mamera village in Ranasan village of Vijapur taluka from Tharad in Banaskantha. Vijayji Deepaji Thakor, a resident of Dabhi village in Unjha taluka, came in contact with the 14-year-old girl, who lives with her family in Tharad, through social media. Meanwhile, Sagira had gone to Mamera in Ranasan village of Vijapur taluka. At that time, Vijayji called him and sat on his brother Ashokji Deepaji Thakor's bike and lured him away and raped her against the wishes of the minor. The police filed a charge sheet after a complaint was lodged at Vijapur police station. The case went to the POCSO court in Mehsana on Thursday. Based on Chaudhary's arguments and evidence, Judge M.F. Khatri convicted Vijayji Thakor, who committed the crime, and his brother Ashokji Thakor, who helped in the escape of the minor, under the POCSO section and sentenced them to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 32,000.
