Based on a tip-off received during patrolling in bhakdiyal-Ghana border, the Agthala police have seized foreign liquor of Indian origin from a pick-up cart. The police received information that liquor was being smuggled in a pick-up dal of GJ13AX0833 number from Jadiyali-Bhakdiyal road. The police tried to stop the vehicle but the driver did not stop the vehicle and the police chased it. The driver had parked the vehicle in bhakdiyal-ghanana kacha sheria and fled after taking advantage of the thick-edged bushes. When the police checked the vehicle, 1344 bottles of foreign liquor were found in it. The cost of which is Rs. A total of Rs. 2,95,152 including the price of pickup dal. A total of Rs 5,95,152 has been seized. The action was taken as part of a campaign to eliminate liquor and gambling activities as directed by Banaskantha district superintendent of police Akshayraj. The operation was carried out by Agthala police inspector RR Rathwa and his team under the guidance of deputy superintendent of police of Deesa division CL Solanki. Legal action under the Prohibition Act has been initiated against the driver of the pickup dala at Agthala police station.
