An incident of breaking of drinking water pipelines has come to light during the work of laying underground power line by UGVCL in Harij municipality area. Drinking water pipelines laid by the municipality in Srinathji Steel, Shivshakti Society and Vankar Vas area have been leaked. In some places the pipelines have been completely broken. Due to this, dirty sewage water is being mixed in the drinking water. Also, due to broken lines, there is not enough drinking water in the residential areas. This has led to a lot of anger among the local residents. In view of this problem, the chief officer of the municipality, Ashishbhai Darji, has sent a notice to the deputy executive engineer of UGVCL. The notice has sought a compensation of Rs 50,000 for the damage caused to the pipelines. The municipality has warned that legal action will be taken for damaging government property if the notice is not complied with.
