Ms. Sree lakshmi Subbaswamy, Ph.D student at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda has been awarded prestigious Fulbright Doctoral Research Fellowship for 2021.The Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowships are designed for Indian scholars who are registered for a Ph.D. at an Indian institution. These fellowships are for six to nine months.
Ms. Sree lakshmi has been a UGC Research fellow working for her doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. K. Pushpanadham, Offg. Head of the Department of Educational Administration. Her doctoral research is in the area of Critical Analysis of International Baccalaureate's Primary Years curriculum. She is currently pursuing her research project with Fulbright Fellowship at University of Albany, USA and studing Global Citizenship Education in the secondary School Education in USA.
"It is a prestigious fellowship for the doctoral students as it follows very rigorous selection process based on the merit of the student and the global relevance of the research project. Global Citizenship Education is an interesting area of research which has aligned with UNESCO'S Education for Sustainable Development Goals", said Prof. K. Pushpanadham
This is the probably first time that our doctoral student has been awarded Fulbright Fellowship. This fellowship open up the avenues for academic and research networking across the globe and enhance the opportunities for Internationalization of Higher Education, which is one of the priorities of National Education Policy 2020.
