A team of local crime branch in Bhavnagar city has nabbed a man who was smuggling liquor from Vadwa area on the basis of a tip-off. Along with this, the Local Crime Branch has seized 636 bottles of different brands of English liquor and is searching for two accused. One of the accused was found during a raid by the police
The men of Bhavnagar LCB police staff were patrolling the city area, during which information was received that Viren Hakabhai Vaghela, 22, was staying in Vadwa area of Bhavnagar city. On the upper floor of Bharat Dudhalay on the street of Vadwa, Talavadi Vadwa Chora, Kamnath Mahadev, a foreign country of Indian origin retails english liquor by keeping a stock of it. So the police raided and arrested the accused Virenbhai, while his two accomplices, Wasimbhai Gori and Mehulbhai Baraiya, escaped. Police launched a manhunt for the two absconding accused.
The police seized 636 bottles of sealpack 636 bottles worth Rs 2,24,375, a separate company of Indian-made English liquor scheduled for sale in the state of Chandigarh, from the spot. Apart from this, the police also seized an A59 mobile phone worth Rs 10,000 of Oppo company from the accused. A case under different sections of prohibition has been registered against three persons at Nilambagh police station in Bhavnagar and further action has been taken. At the same time, efforts have been made to nab the absconding men.
