Crores of rupees are spent in the name of Vadodara Smart City, but Vadodara city does not become smart, but in the name of Smart City, the administrators of Smart Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) are spending crores of rupees on the exchequer of the corporation. After the failure of the smart dustbin project, the solid waste department will now install hanging dustbins in the city. The corporation will have to spend ₹13,200 on this one hanging dustbin and the corporation will install such hanging dustbins in the expenditure limit of ₹1 crore in a year.
In order to make Vadodara city clean, in the past, big garbage boxes of green color were placed everywhere. From which the garbage overflowed and fell on the road. After that, the corporation bought small garbage boxes of silver color and put them there. Today there are only 232 silver dustbins. Dustbins can't be found in search, why? A few years ago, two dustbins were given to taxpayers who paid taxes, green and red. Thousands of undistributed dustbins were then recovered from ward offices, including old ward nos. 1, 8, as well as debris at Raopura School. Why is citizens' money misused so often? Citizens' queries need to be answered by the leaders of the ruling party.
The corporation has submitted a proposal to the standing committee to install hanging dustbins in Vadodara city. Accordingly, one such hanging dustbin will cost the corporation ₹13,200. Which is also 20.28 per cent higher than the corporation's estimate. Wherever these dustbins will be placed, two dustbins will be placed as they have to be kept separately for dry and wet waste. So the cost of dustbins in one place will be ₹26400. Will ruling party leaders buy a dustbin from self-finance for personal use at a cost of Rs 13200? How reasonable are the expenses incurred by putting the dustbin out of the corporation's funds? Isn't this corruption?
