'Not in place': Delta Airlines plane loses portion of wing flap mid-air; FAA launches probe

A Delta Air Lines Boeing 737-900ER, flight 3247, en route from Atlanta to Raleigh-Durham International Airport, experienced a partial wing flap loss during its journey. The aircraft, carrying 109 passengers and six crew members, landed safely despite the incident. The FAA has launched an investigation to determine if a found aircraft component is related to the missing flap.
