Saudi Arabia sets new labour penalties up to SR250,000 in updated violations schedule

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has issued an updated schedule of labour violations and penalties following a public consultation. Fines now range from SR500 to SR250,000, covering unlicensed hiring, illegal recruitment, workplace misconduct, environmental breaches, and violations of maternity leave and childcare requirements, reinforcing compliance and protections for workers, particularly women.
