Oman proposes Gulf-backed voluntary fees to use Hormuz

Oman has presented Iran with a plan backed by Gulf states for managing the Strait of Hormuz. This proposal includes collecting voluntary fees for ships utilizing the vital waterway. Iran has yet to respond to the Omani proposals for trade disruption resolution. The plan aims to avoid sole Iranian control and make fees voluntary. Gulf Cooperation Council ministers met to discuss waterway safety and cooperation.
