Ohio eighth-grader Archishman Dey investigated how everyday household activities affect indoor PM2.5 pollution. Testing an air fryer, candle, humidifier, natural gas and incense, he found incense produced the highest average levels, followed by the air fryer. Inspired by concerns about his grandparents’ asthma, Archishman hopes his findings encourage families to improve indoor air quality.
