Rashmika Mandanna will portray MS Subbulakshmi in an upcoming biopic directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Producer Allu Aravind stated that MS Subbulakshmi herself chose Mandanna for this role. Actor Kamal Haasan acknowledged the significant pressure associated with this challenging portrayal. Previously, Sai Pallavi and Rukmini Vasanth were linked to the biopic project. This new film follows an earlier dropped attempt with Vidya Balan.
