After 11 road accidents, English villagers knit fake police officers to slow down drivers

Villagers in Fillongley, England, spent four months knitting life-sized traffic officers, fake speed cameras and roadside figures after 11 accidents were recorded at a junction over four years. Installed on October 13, the handmade displays have reportedly prompted some drivers to slow down. However, one knitted RAF officer has apparently been stolen, while residents continue to await permanent road safety improvements.
