Madhuri Dixit says she has been making the country proud for 20 years
Actress Madhuri Dixit has objected to the trolls and body shaming on social media about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's look at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. Talking to news agency PTI, Madhuri said that Aishwarya is a global star and she has made the name of the country as a former Miss World. A woman's success cannot be measured by her weight, dress size or age. Actress Trupti Dimri, who was present with Madhuri on the occasion, also supported Aishwarya Rai and Ananya Panday. Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan worked together in the superhit film 'Devdas'. Madhuri criticised the culture of judging women only on the basis of outward appearance rather than their achievements. "When you make such comments, what message are you giving to today's youth? That your value is based on how you look, not your achievements. I think this is a completely wrong message. Madhuri said that Aishwarya is as beautiful on the inside as she looks from the outside. Madhuri's upcoming film 'Maa Behen' co-star Trupti Dimri also expressed her opinion on the matter. He also defended Ananya Panday along with Aishwarya. Ananya was recently trolled on social media for a dance scene from her film 'Chand Mera Dil'. Trupti said, "It is very easy to sit at home and comment on people. But being in his place is a different matter. Be it Ananya or Aishwarya ma'am, both of them have worked hard in their lives and they are achievers." But now digital media needs content for every little thing, so comments start pouring in as soon as the film starts. According to Madhuri, today people scroll on the mobile screen for just three seconds and decide whether they want to see something or not. In these changing times, artists have to accept it and move forward. Madhuri Dixit and Trupti Dimri will soon be seen together in the Netflix film 'Maa Behen'. It is a dark comedy film in which apart from these two, Dharana Durga and Ravi Kishan also play important roles. The film will stream on Netflix on June 4, 2026. During the promotions of the same film, both the actresses spoke openly about social media trolling and mental pressure of the actors.
