AMC Legal Action: Timely collection of property tax as an important source of revenue is essential for the development of Ahmedabad city and for the streamlining of civic services. The North Zone Property Tax Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has taken legal and transparent action to ensure the recovery of outstanding property tax in the city and prevent tax evasion.
Under this process, properties which have been auctioned for long pending property tax payments, thereby promoting both tax collection and civil liability. The property tax department of the North Zone and Central Zone of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Mahanagar Seva Sadan took legal action against various properties as part of the recovery of outstanding property tax. In this regard, the auction process was completed till date in some areas of the North and Central zones in the first week of January.
