The Karnataka Tele-MANAS cell, part of the National Tele Mental Health Programme, has seen calls multiply nearly 60-fold since its inception in 2022, with rural areas increasingly making up a significant proportion of the calls, highlighting both rising awareness and the growing burden of mental health issues outside cities, writes Rishita Khanna.
