The Status of Policing in India Report (SPIR) 2026, based on a survey by Lokniti-CSDS and Common Cause across 16 States, examines two factors that enable the progress of redressal in cybercrime complaints – bribery and using the influence of personal network; both channels are used more often, and appear to work more for the victims from marginalised groups
