The news of Sanju Samson's trade has started gaining momentum again. Samson seems almost certain to play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026. The report of ESPN Cricinfo has revealed that CSK can trade two all-rounders with RR in the form of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran in exchange for Sanju Samson. If this trade is successful, then Jadeja will be returning to the RR team after 17 years.
If Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings want to make this trade official, then they will have to inform the IPL Governing Council about the three players. According to the rules of trading, once the written consent is received from the players, the franchises can proceed with the process of final agreement.
Jadeja has played 254 matches in his mammoth IPL career. He is only behind Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik. For CSK, he has taken 143 wickets, which is the highest. He was also made the captain of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022 season, but after the team's poor start in the season, he handed the captaincy back into the hands of Dhoni.
