Hemchandracharya University to set up fee fixation committee: According to the new Act, the fees of college courses will be fixed

A meeting of the Finance Committee of Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Dr. The meeting was presided over by Dr. K.C. Poriya. An important decision was taken in the meeting that for the first time a Fee Regulation Committee (FRC) will be constituted by the University as per the new Act and the National Education Policy. The committee will fix the fee scale for various courses running in the university and its affiliated colleges. Further, various bills passed in the earlier meetings were approved and pending issues were discussed and passed. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kishore Poriya said that it has been decided to set up a Fee Determination Committee (FRC) to decide how much fee to be charged from the next year 2026-2027. For this, a six-member fee fixation committee will be constituted by the vice-chancellor of the university. The Fee Regulation Committee will comprise a retired judge of the Supreme Court and High Courts, a retired officer of the rank of General Manager of a nationalized bank, a retired vice-chancellor, a current vice-chancellor and a registrar and a chief accounting officer. This committee will decide how much to charge as per different subjects and curriculum. It is worth mentioning that there is a provision in the statute of the university regarding the fee fixation committee. The committee will decide the fee norms of self-financing colleges and universities affiliated to the university. It will also hear representations related to fees and come up with a solution. The meeting was attended by Vice-Chancellor K.C. Registrar Rohit Desai, committee members Dilip Chaudhary and J.K. Dignitaries including Dr. Patel were present on the occasion.
