The Asia Cup trophy controversy is yet to be resolved. Even after being the Asian champion, Team India has not been able to get the trophy, because after the final match, ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi took the trophy with him. Now former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has supported Mohsin Naqvi on the trophy controversy. The Indian team refused to take the trophy from Naqvi's hands after winning the final, describing Team India's stance as a 'third-rate act'.
Basit Ali further said that if it was an ICC event and the Pakistan team refused to take the trophy from Jay Shah's hands, he would have made a similar statement even then. After the Asia Cup ended, Team India is currently busy with the West Indies Test series. The India vs West Indies 1st Test is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
